Choose a provider, add your key if needed, and translate your first page in a few steps.

From a fresh install to your first translated page in a few minutes. Use a short, low-risk page for the first run, such as an About page.
Step 1: choose a provider
Go to Settings > MeloTools AI Translation. Free basic is already active and needs no key. To use an AI provider instead, click its tile: Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT or Groq. Not sure? Read Providers.
Step 2: add your key (AI providers only)
The setup panel shows two parts:
- Get your key: three short steps and an Open key page button that takes you to the provider's key page.
- Paste and save: paste the key into API key and click Save and activate.
The page reloads. Click Test connection: a working key shows a sample, for example "Add to cart" translated into French.
Keep the key private. Do not paste it into support requests, screenshots or chats.
Step 3: translate a page
- Open the page on your site and click Translate Site in the admin bar to open the TranslatePress editor.
- In the language list at the top left, choose the language to translate into.
- Under it, pick the provider in the small menu, then click Translate page.
- A progress window shows the strings being translated. When it says Done, click Reload editor.
Step 4: review
Check the page in the editor and on the live site in the new language. Look at headings, buttons, menu items and brand names. AI translation is a strong first draft; have someone who reads the language check pages that matter.
