Installation

What you need before installing the plugin and how to install and activate it in WordPress.

You install this plugin like any other WordPress plugin. There is nothing else to install and no account to create.

Before you start

  • WordPress 6.5 or later, PHP 7.4 or later.
  • TranslatePress installed, with at least one translation language added in Settings > TranslatePress. WordPress asks you to install TranslatePress first if it is missing.
  • A recent backup, as before any bulk content change.

Install

  1. In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin.
  2. Search for "MeloTools AI Translation for TranslatePress", then click Install Now and Activate.

You can also download it from its WordPress.org page and upload the zip in Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin.

Check it works

  1. Go to Settings > MeloTools AI Translation.
  2. You see the Dashboard with the provider tiles. Free basic is active straight away.
  3. Continue with the quick start.

Update

Update from the Plugins screen as usual. Your settings and saved keys are kept.

Uninstall

Deactivate and delete the plugin from the Plugins screen. Deleting it removes the plugin settings, the translation statistics, and every saved API key and provider choice for all users.

Your translations are not removed: they belong to TranslatePress and stay on your site.

After uninstalling, also delete the API key in your provider's console if you no longer need it.
