Release history.

1.0.1

  • New: "Refresh preview" link in the editor clears the page cache (LiteSpeed Cache) and reloads the editor, so saved translations show at once.
  • Fixed: some strings (often post titles, meta descriptions and paragraphs) could be saved untranslated when the AI returned the source text, and later runs then skipped them. Unchanged answers for real sentences are now retried and never saved as a translation. To repair a page translated with an earlier version, tick "Redo from scratch" once.
  • Fixed: on sites with a page cache (for example LiteSpeed Cache) the editor preview could show the old text after a run. The plugin now purges LiteSpeed Cache after saving, undoing or clearing, and reloads the editor with a fresh copy.
  • Fixed: strings containing "&" (common in meta titles) were skipped when the translation dropped the "&", for example in Chinese.
  • Fixed: strings were missed when TranslatePress shows its string groups in another language (for example "Lista de cadenas"). Meta information strings are now included too.

1.0.0

  • First public release on WordPress.org, renamed from "Automate AI Translation for TranslatePress".
  • New: Undo last run (one level per user). Strings edited after the run are never touched.
  • New: Clear machine translations on a page, keeping your own edits. Undoable.
  • New: run size shown before large runs, and a warning for the wrong script or Chinese variant.
  • Fixed: translations from the editor were not saved in 0.6.4.
  • Added: when a provider is briefly busy (HTTP 500 to 504), the request is retried once automatically, with a clear message if it still fails.
  • Changed: Gemini now defaults to gemini-flash-lite-latest, which follows Google's current Flash-Lite model and has a larger free allowance.
  • Security: every request input is sanitised where it is read, and database queries use prepared identifiers.
  • Added: support and contact links on the settings screen.
  • Tested with WordPress 7.1.

0.6.4

  • Added: "Redo from scratch" in the editor replaces earlier machine translations for one page. A separately confirmed option also replaces your own edits.

0.6.3

  • Changed: Groq default model is openai/gpt-oss-20b, and Groq runs one request at a time.

0.6.2

  • Changed: after saving a key, the page reloads so Test connection is always available. Errors show the provider's code.

0.6.1

  • Changed: a 404 error now shows the model ID that was tried.

0.6.0

  • Added: Free basic translation with no API key, using the translator built into Chrome and Edge on desktop.

0.5.1

  • Fixed: translations rejected when the AI returned a plain apostrophe or space instead of an HTML code.
  • Security: encoded quotes, URLs and emails must be unchanged; the structure check fails closed.

0.5.0

  • Changed: API keys are private to each user account.
